Our ambassadors and author supporters

We’re really lucky to have some well-known faces who support our campaigns and help spread the word about the importance of improving child literacy.

Sir Michael Morpurgo OBE

Michael joined Coram Beanstalk as an Ambassador in November 2017 and continues to be an advocate for our work creating readers for pleasure.

Liz Pichon

Hugely popular author and illustrator, Liz Pichon, is best known for her award-winning series Tom Gates and became a Coram Beanstalk Ambassador in 2017.

Rashmi Sirdeshpande

Rashmi is an award-winning children's author who writes a mix of picture books, poetry, fiction and illustrated non-fiction. She joined Coram Beanstalk as an ambassador in The National Year of Reading 2026 and is passionate about helping children find the right book!

Jen Carney

Jen Carney writes and illustrates contemporary middle-grade fiction that's packed with laugh-out-loud humour. As a co-mum via adoption, she remains a highly active public advocate for reading for pleasure and increasing the visibility of adopted, fostered, and LGBTQ+ families in children's books and we are delighted to have her as an ambassador.

Abi Elphinstone

Abi was a reading helper in London primary schools from 2015 until she moved to Scotland with her family. She is the author of the highly acclaimed Dreamsnatcher trilogy and Sky Song series of books, amongst others.

Peter Bunzl

Peter's debut novel Cogheart and follow up Moonlocket are both highly commended novels and Coram Beanstalk children in London benefitted from his reading support for several years. Peter enthralled Coram Beanstalk children at BookFest 2018.
