Important message from Coram Beanstalk in regards to COVID-19

May 2020

With schools and educational settings shutting their doors to most students on the 20th March 2020, we might find ourselves struggling to answer the question ‘what do I do now?’. It’s difficult to know that we cannot directly help children with their reading skills and education, but Coram Beanstalk has been working hard to provide you with tips, advice and resources to support children from afar. We have provided all of our resources in this document, all of this information can be found on our website, including our top tips, partnership with The Very Group and our blogs. You can also follow us on our social media channels, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts (@BeanstalkReads).

On 16th March 2020 guidance was provided to all of our reading helpers and schools. We advised all volunteers not to visit their schools to carry out reading sessions and to wait to hear from Coram Beanstalk about when it is suitable to return to school.

We are still here if you need to talk to us for support and you can contact us by emailing support@corambeanstalk.org.uk or calling our office on 020 7729 4087 (an answerphone system is in place). In the interim, I have recorded a message of thanks to all of our volunteers and to our schools.

Keep safe and look after one another.

Ginny Lunn,

MD, Coram Beanstalk
