We love picture books at Coram Beanstalk and know that some of the best book chat happens when children are engaged with the illustrations in a book.
This month we have selected a range of beautifully illustrated picture books with lots of detail that could be shared with children of any age. With this type of book, you could spend a whole session just looking at and talking about the illustrations on a double page spread. They are also perfect for playing games like ‘The Memory Game’, ‘Who am I?’, ‘I spy’ or ‘Pictionary’.

I found reading, particularly reading out loud, incredibly difficult when I was at school, and so it has always been so important to me that through the detail of my work, any person regardless of their reading ability will be able to find something to enjoy in my work.
